University Policies

Please refer to the “General Regulations and Procedures" in the CSUSB Bulletin of Courses for the university’s policies on course withdrawal, cheating, and plagiarism.

Plagiarism and Cheating

Plagiarism is another form of cheating and is considered a serious offense by the Department of Nursing and the University.  All resources used for written work and oral presentations must give proper credit to the original author of the work by the appropriate citation using the current APA format.  If you are unsure of what plagiarism is, please conduct a web search and see the instructor, so that remediation may occur and you can avoid plagiarism.
Students are expected to be familiar with the University’s  Policy on cheating and Plagiarism. Please review this at (CSUSB Bulletin, pages 54-55).  “Plagiarism and cheating are violations of the Student Discipline Code (see course Bulletin Appendix) and may be dealt with by both the instructor and the Judicial Affairs Officer.” Instances of academic dishonesty will not be tolerated. Cheating on exams or plagiarism (presenting the work of another as your own, or the use of another person’s ideas without giving proper credit) will result in a failing grade and sanctions by the University (see CSUSB catalogue and Department of Nursing Policy Manual).

Classroom and Online Protocol

Faculty and students will treat each other with dignity and respect, as evidenced by active listening and thoughtful responses in the class and online.  A variety of teaching methods may be used, including lecture, guest speakers, group discussion, on-line course activities, small group exercises, simulated activities, case studies, role-play, and print/electronic media assignments.

Dropping and Adding

Students are responsible for understanding the policies and procedures about add/drops, academic renewal, etc. found in the 2011-2012 CSUSB Bulletin, pages 48-50.
